Trying to catch up

I'm doing a lot of catching up on how the news is spreading across the Internet. I found one YouTube video of a vlogger from Jackson and her reaction to the news story. There have been a few vitriolic posts (on both sides), and I'll get to those, but I wanted to share this video. Enjoy.

Goodness! Listening to this girl on the youtube video is about as painful as listening to George W. when he tries to speak without notes!

Anyway, this is a obviously a very intriguing and controversial story. I consider myself to be a very open-minded individual and go to great lengths to gather all of the facts on both sides of issue. One thing that I'm curious to know in regard to the situation with your father is how much research was done in exploring the original Greek meanings and contexts of the many verses that are being cited to justify your father's trans- gendered state? To me, the Bible is a lot like our Constitution; the original writer's had a very specific meaning, but some parts are written in a very amibiguous way, thus creating the need to sometimes dig a bit deeper than just the words themselves. I'm not a Bible scholar by any means, but I know that I personally could justify just about anything I do in my own life, be it "right" or "wrong", by spinning verses in the Bible to mean what I want them to mean.
Please don't get me wrong, I am not implying that you or your family are "spinning" the Bible, nor am I trying to argue against your father's position. As a curious researcher and neutral observer, I was just curious if anyone had researched these verses in their original Greek context and meanings.

No Bible verse mentions transgender. The Old Testament verses that are used are mixed in with verses about stoning to death non-virgin brides and stubborn sons. If I had obeyed the stubborn sons admonition, this blog wouldn't exist!

The New Testament verses talk about general principles. If I were to live according to what others think of my body it would be at the expense of my head, heart, and soul. That is the nature of my condition. I just can't live that way.
